    You're right. I bungled that up, but fixed it. I was simply trying to impress upon those quick to judge the police from an incomplete picture of what happened. Police may have seconds to react, and the rest of the world has an eternity to dissect the situation.

    When I walked by this last night i was wondering what he was pinned on the ground for. there were 3 london police cruisers and 2 uwo cars parked by the guy. It must have been a slow day. The guy kept mumbling 'i just need to get a job man. thats all i want is a job man.' Figured it was just some drunk causing trouble, didn't know this much happened beforehand.

    *yawn*

    This is just food for anarchists, and protesters; the people I hate most. Where would you be without the police?

    I'm not saying they have the right to do whatever they want, but they do way more good than bad. Don't be a fucking alarmist.

    I would have kicked a few of these faux cops in the face if I were in his position.

    No, you really wouldn't have.

    Really? you hate protesters? I would say the world would be a different place if people were too afraid to speak up for themselves. I guess we should just take everything for what it is. Pffft who even needs workers unions or democracy!Social Darwinism RULES!

    As for this I watched the video a few more times and have heard some back story and I GUESS it is not as bad as it is played out to be in the media but I still believe these "officers of the law" should be reprimanded or at least issue an apology for using slightly excessive force.

    Adam, that's a real shitty attitude. There's lots and lots of good that protest does.

    So far the banks have been bailed out by the united states government (or rather the fed has bailed them out) around the area of 23.5 trillion dollars.

    23.5 trillion.

    If that isn't something to riot out in the streets, then nothing is.

    And it's attitudes like yours that will keep this sort of thing perpetuating for a long long time.

    Maybe this instance is nothing to protest over, but there's a whole slew of stuff that is.

    And one of those things that isn't are those tea party things.

    Those are silly.

    When the Nazis came for the communists,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a communist.

    When they locked up the social democrats,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a social democrat.

    When they came for the trade unionists,
    I did not speak out;
    I was not a trade unionist.

    When they came for the Jews,
    I remained silent;
    I wasn't a Jew.

    When they came for me,
    there was no one left to speak out.

    Jesus. I really thought you guys would understand what I mean, but maybe you are protesters. I'm confident someone like Hermit knows what I'm talking about, so I guess it's not a complete loss.

    I really mean... "social activists". Young, hippy type people who do nothing but protest, and plaster their facebook feed with notes about how much the man is harshing their buzz. I am quite certain nothing out of the ordinary happened in this instance, yet before the backstory was even revealed, people (on this board, no less) were shouting "police brutality!" and organizing protests.

    I'm reminded of the penn and teller episode where they get hundreds of environmentalists to sign the petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide.

    Don't be a zealot. Don't be an alarmist. Do your fucking homework.

    Cute story, but I'm not particularly concerned. Fortunately, I'm far more likely to be one of the people doing the locking up. You think they just draw Admin names out of a hat?

    First they put away the dealers
    Keep our kids safe and off the streets
    Then they put away the prostitutes
    Keep married men clustered at home
    Then they shooed away the bums
    and they beat and bashed the queers
    Turned away asylum seekers
    Fed us suspicions and fears
    We didn't raise our voice
    We didn't make a fuss
    It's funny there was no one left to notice
    When they came for us

    Sorry Jessed. I misheard the figures. 23.5 trillion is the worst case for spending apparently.

    However, The U.S. has lent, spent or guaranteed $11.6 trillion to bolster banks and fight the longest recession in 70 years, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
    So yeah, not as big as 23.5. Sorry if it seemed like I was trying to sensationalise. I thought the figure was what was spent. Anyway, my point still stands. 11.6 trillion is a retardedly large amount. Roughly 40 grand for every single american.
